Our client is a multi-entity business who have earned their place in the top end of Perth’s events calendar. WHAT’S INVOLVED?


The current state of the business accounts is not spectacular. Systems are not utilised and reporting is limited; not enough attention has been paid to keeping the house in order over the last few years, and this has been identified as a pretty big problem. There is some backlog of work, and a good portion of your role, at least at the beginning, will be to create systems and make the Accounts function of the business run like a well-oiled machine. There is also an administrative aspect to this role; and whilst you won’t be supervising anyone or undertaking “PA” types of duties, you will be responsible for administrative functions such as maintaining insurances, keeping stationery stocked, and liaising with IT providers. The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Manage multiple accounts
  • Produce management reports and budgets
  • Supply financial data and reports as requested
  • Fortnightly payroll for around 10 people (some part-time)
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Banking and bank reconciliations
  • Cash-flow management and reporting
  • Corporate reporting
  • Prepare and lodge BAS and GST
  • Manage inter-company loans
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?


We need someone who is a born problem-solver. You need to take what is admittedly a bit of a mess, and turn it into something slick. You won’t be alone however – we are looking for someone who can communicate with Management, who is honest about their capacity and isn’t afraid to ask for help or support. You will also need:

  • Significant experience in bookkeeping (including payroll) for a multi-entity, small-to-medium enterprise business
  • In a perfect world, you will have an Accounting degree
  • Advanced experience in MYOB, including generating custom reports
  • Good Excel skills
  • Ideally experience in a family business
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and understand the importance of maintaining supplier relationships
  • The ability to work effectively in an incredibly distracting environment
  • A willingness to get involved in the social company culture and attend company events (which will often be outside of work hours)
