About the role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, Cost Accountant to join our accounts team based in Keysborough. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be specifically responsible for, maintaining and producing all key costing information, general ledger analysis & reconciliations, as well as inventory control, work in progress and variance analysis.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- monthly costing schedules by job and client
- variance analysis of inventory & recommendations of improvement
- cost allocation of inventory, freight and labour for all jobs in production
- assisting with budget preparation and rolling forecasts
- full product costing and feasibility testing
- workflow review and process improvement implementation
- preparation of month end journals, reporting, analysis and commentary
- ad-hoc management reports
As the successful candidate will ideally have held a cost accountant role within a manufacturing environment. You will be CA/CPA qualified, or studying towards this completion. You will have both excellent written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail as well as be highly analytical with the ability to produce and present high level detail analysis.
A work ethic which consistently demonstrates flexibility, adaptability and logical thinking in your approach to tasks will have you well placed. As importantly you MUST be willing to be a team player within our small finance team and be prepared to roll up your sleeves and add value to all areas when needed.
