The role and responsibilities include: 

Reporting to the Head of HR, the duties of the Payroll Officer will include the following;

  • Every Wednesday, you will process end-to-end weekly payroll (40 employees); 
  • Process all monthly Payroll transactions for 2 other entities once a month (60 employees); 
  • End of month processing and reconciliations;
  • Management and reporting of Payroll liabilities, Payroll tax, Workers Compensation, Superannuation and any other payroll related on-cost matters;
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, Modern Award and our Enterprise Agreement; 
  • Gather and update payroll information to maintain data integrity in our system;
  • Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting to ATO after every pay run; 
  • Assist with statistical data and preparation for WGEA reporting on a yearly basis; 
  • Payroll filing and other ad-hoc administrative duties as requested by Head of HR and Head of Finance. 

This is an excellent position for a dedicated Payroll Officer who is also keen to broaden their experience and provide administrative support to the Head of HR. This contract role can potentially be for up to 8 days per month or as required, with working Wednesdays a must.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Have 5+ years of proven experience in end-to-end payroll using Sage Micropay and SAP; 
  • Previous experience with MitreFinch Time & Attendance system is desirable;
  • Very high level of attention to detail and accuracy; 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and confidential records;
  • Efficient time management and communication skills.
