Senior Business Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Aluminium business (RTA) and support the delivery of commercial services to Yarwun Operations, including performance analysis and management reporting activities, delivery of RTA Planning activities, management of operating costs and capex, provide support for the business transformation office, and the development of cost awareness across site.

This role is a great opportunity for someone enjoys strong emphasis on good governance, cost control, cost reporting, analysis, and business transformation. Reporting to the Manager Business Services Yarwun, you will be:

• Preparing monthly management reports, cost analysis, and other reporting as required.Assist with half-yearly financial reporting requirements and audits.
• Preparing required Plan, Forecast & associated reporting and analysis to support quarterly forecasting and planning.
• Driving improvement of the existing commercial systems and processes, which includes internal controls and financial governance processes.
• Providing commercial support/analysis to operations and corporate projects, or other initiatives.
• Providing assistance and commercial support for a broad range of areas including taxation, contracts, Government agencies, payroll, internal controls, working capital, capex, improvement projects, SAP.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• Bachelors in Commerce, Finance or Accounting
• Certified Management Accountant or CPA or CA is preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
• SAP software exposure preferable
• Strong management reporting experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to multi task
• Strong professional interpersonal relationship skills

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Previous experience in manufacturing sector

Where you will be working

Yarwun is located 10km north-west of Gladstone in central Queensland, Yarwun is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. The world class refinery has the capacity to produce 3.4 million tonnes of alumina per annum and creates employment for over 700 people. The Yarwun Refinery uses leading edge technology and environmental design. A key design element is a 160 megawatt cogeneration facility that was brought online in 2012 as part of the Yarwun 2 expansion project.
