Commercial Analyst

The opportunity!

A newly created position, reporting to the Commercial Manager – Energy, this role is suited to a hands on, energetic and proactive candidate with broad commercial interests, who will business partner and deliver solutions to the rapidly growing Energy Business. Good communication and strong team work ethics are essential to be successful in this opportunity.

The role provides commercial decision support services to the Bradford Energy and Finance teams though the detailed review and analysis of the business; identification of the key issues and root cause analysis and development and implementation of effective business solutions in accordance with CSR Bradford policies / processes and the relevant accounting standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating, reporting, and value adding though insightful commentary, a dashboard of the relevant KPI’s including; analysis of revenue and costs; job profitability; supply and install cost recoveries; supply and install operational performance and efficiencies; variances to plan.
  • Identifying operational issues and initiating corrective actions, clearly defining the root cause and making recommendations as to possible solutions.
  • Analyse the Bradford Energy daily performance, the future order pipeline, and monitoring WIP.
  • Review business controls such as orders processed but not yet invoiced, the aging of those orders, the reason for the delay and actioning or follow up of corrective steps as necessary.
  • Ensuring small technology certificates (STC’s) are claimed in an effective and efficient manner complying with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Actively participating in projects as specified.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be degree qualified in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of 2 years’ work experience, preferably within a large listed organisation.
  • Have completed or commenced their CA or CPA.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Ideally be an experienced SAP (or other large ERP) user, and be an advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Have the capacity to work through commercial issues, propose effective solutions and implement them.
  • Be a team player, oriented towards continuous improvement, including their own personal development.
  • Be self-motivated, have hands-on approach to problem solving with a 'can do' attitude, who requires minimal daily supervision in achieving the high expectations set for this role.
  • Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Please note that this role will be based at North Ryde, but will require weekly travel to meet with the Bradford Energy team.
