Accounts Officer - Newcastle, NSW
Lifeline is seeking to employ an Accounts Officer based in Newcastle, NSW.
This role will be casual - approximately 15 hours per week.
About the position:
The primary function of the role is to assist Lifeline Direct in managing their day-to-day accounting and associated functions.
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent skills and experience in use of MYOB, Online Banking, Excel, and other Microsoft Office computer packages (including email and internet).
- Certified Bookkeeper or significant training to enable Bookkeeper to perform all required bookkeeping tasks with competence.
- Knowledge of contemporary Bookkeeping/Accounting and Payroll
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of accounts payable and receivable
- Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to customer focused service
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, use of initiative and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory bookkeeping requirements
- Ability to learn and understand GST as it applies to charitable organisations
- Excellent data entry skills with accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Modern Awards, National Employment Standards, Finance Standards and FBT requirements and ATO obligations
- Experience in liaising with funding bodies and the acquittal process
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Experience in leading and participating in a successful team
This position is a casual position – approximately 15 hours per week.
The successful candidate may be required to satisfactorily undergo a pre-employment Medical Assessment (where applicable) and agree to a National Criminal History Record Check.
