If you want to use your commercial skills and acumen to help a wonderful organisation continue to have a real impact in the mental health space this is a great opportunity. Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation including, finance, HR and technology. 

Reviewing internal processes you will be the key person in  ensuring that the organisation is able to continue the positive work it has been doing and continue to have a positive impact throughout Australia. 

Day to day responsibilities of the role will include;

  • Produce & present accurate financial reports in a timely manner; communicating monthly and annual financial statements to appropriate parties
  • Liaise with external auditors to coordinate and lead the annual audit process, amending processes as appropriate
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process
  • Administer and review all financial plans and budgets
  • Manage organisational cash flow and forecasting
  • Implement and manage contract management and financial management / reporting system
  • Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors
  • Further develop the organisations human resources and administration systems, considering professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training, and recruiting
  • Ensure that recruiting processes are consistent and streamlined
  • Establish and manage a comprehensive training program to educate employees regarding staff tools, policies, and procedures
  • Work closely and transparently with all external partners including third-party vendors and consultants
  • Oversee administrative functions as well as facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organisation scale

In order to be able to fulfil this role you will need;

  • Minimum tertiary qualifications in finance or commerce ideally with a CPA or CA
  • At least 7 years of overall professional experience; ideally in broad financial and operations management experience
  • Experience of final accountability for the quality and content of all financial data for a large program and/or business area 
  • Coordination of audits
  • Ability to translate financial concepts to – and to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds
  • A track record in grants management
  • Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; knowledge of accounting and reporting software
  • Commitment to training programs that maximise individual and organisation goals across the organisation including best practices in human resources activities
  • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organisation and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritise, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • A multitasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment, and the capacity to see the big picture and context of tasks being completed
