The Company
They are one of the leading international brands in the fields of sophisticated radio frequency, communication and security solutions.
For over 80 years, they have been providing technically advanced products to the Defence, Airforce, Navy, Civil Aviation and Broadcast & Media sectors.
They have grown exponentially over the years, but remain privately owned.
The Role
Reporting to the VP Sales, Service and Marketing Asia Pacific (less Greater China), Country Manager Australia will be responsible for approximately 45 employees (mainly technical sales, application and integration) offices.
He/she will boost the firm’s market presence and profit margins, as well as strengthen the management team and improve their empowerment, through a more effective and client oriented behaviour.
These are the main responsibilities/objectives of the MD:
- Drives growth of the company in Australia, as a financially independent local entity, in close cooperation and in line with the strategic targets defined by the corporate management
- Develops increasing revenues for all market segments (today about 25M€) finding and developing new sustainable business opportunities in the Australian market
- Builds on existing and future key contacts with governmental organizations as well as with industrial customers
- Drives personally the sales activities in the Authorities business
- Keeps the company in Australia as a local company and a lean organization, with a high level of efficiency and operational excellence
- Promoting a cohesive, effective and aligned team
- Frequent contact to the regional and firm´s Headquarters, to develop business opportunities and best practises
- Maintaining excellent relationships with divisional, market segment and technical management at corporate headquarters
- Informing regularly the management about all the relevant business data
The Ideal Candidate
The candidate should be proud to work at a technically sophisticated family owned company, with state of the art products in the field.
An Australian citizen coming from an advanced technical equipment manufacturer, with excellent communication skills in English .
He/she should have a strong entrepreneurial drive, combined with results and challenge orientation.
He/she must have the ability to foster networked cooperation with hands-on mentality and decisiveness.
In addition:
- Degree in electronics, telecommunication or similar
- Proven experience at putting together large and technically complex infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in sales & marketing at a MD level
- Strong negotiation skills
- Sound experience in setting up and running efficient financial and operational processes.
- Able to run autonomously a mid-sized self-contained company with full P&L responsibility including personal exposure to Australian legislation
