General Manager - Specialty Coffee
ONA Coffee is Canberra’s largest specialty roaster and wholesale supplier, with one simple goal: connecting communities and sharing a unique flavour experience, with the most sustainable coffee in the world. At ONA, coffee is our obsession, reflected in numerous specialty coffee, barista, brewers and roast awards on the national and world stage. All our beans are sourced at origin by our ethical green bean trading company, Project Origin. We are seeking a specialty coffee professional for the role of General Manager, to join our passionate, dedicated and hard-working team.
The role of General Manager reports directly to the CEO and is expected to enhance our company values and culture across the Sales, Service, Marketing, Roasting, Training, Operations, Administration and Human Resources departments. The General Manager will improve existing systems and implement new processes after consultation with each department, including the Sales teams based in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne and support grown national and international.
The General Manager will take responsibility for pricing structure and finances for the Sales Department; develop a marketing strategy on how ONA Coffee is perceived by the general public, communicating our values and culture; develop Marketing structure and forward planning. The General Manager will display strong leadership to the Sales teams; assist them with budgets; approve and select new cafes; support existing cafes to increase their volumes. The General Manager will collaborate with the Roasting team, developing green bean predictions and pricing, volume and sustainable growth.
The General Manager will maintain excellent communication and structure between all departments and forward planning for new ONA Coffee ventures, including interstate cafes and a Wholesale HQ in Melbourne. The General Manager will work closely with the CEO to implement new systems for the Sales teams, bringing your business knowledge, marketing expertise and leadership skills, to make company decisions independently.
The General Manager will be in charge of the ONA Coffee Wholesale growth strategy and execution, supporting global sales of roasted coffee and innovative products. The General Manager is to create excellent communication and structure between all departments, to operate effectively.
Requirements:
Senior Leadership experience, minimum ten years
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proven Sales and Marketing success
Coffee industry experience is essential
Human Resources experience is essential
