BR International (BRi) is a leader in international supply chain freight management and logistics.
BRi's success, which started with its inception in 1984 has placed it in a new position with the intention of securing a Chief Operating Officer (CEO)
The CEO's role entails for you being ultimately responsible for all day-to-day BRi management decisions and for implementing the BRi long and short term plans. You will act as a direct liaison between the shareholders and management of BRi and communicate to the shareholders on behalf of management.
The successful candidate will work closely with the highly active shareholders to spearhead further expansion as part of a strategic plan as well as build and consolidate the existing portfolio of services within Australia.
Reporting directly to the shareholders of BRI you will effectively be responsible for all operational, financial and business matters and work closely with your existing senior management team.
This will also include:-
Direct control of the below business units:-
- Senior Financial services and all finance matters
- Senior business relationships – banking, commerce, vendor and other entities
- International Freight Forwarding Air and Sea
- Brokerage Operations including Transport
- Customer Retention and Programs
- 3PL and Distribution
- Business Services and Development
- Investment entities
You must also ensure
- Corporate compliance across all business modules
- Drive strong adherence to process and operating agreements both internally and externally
- Build new and develop further existing strategic alliances across the afore-mentioned business units
- Annual P/L budget forecast and preparation – driving targets and ensuring compliance
- Improve further best practice and service delivery/quality
- Generation of return on own cost at a factor of 4 X base salary
Skills
A preference of at least fifteen years' of hands on operational & management experience related to the above business units
A preference around degree qualified in a related discipline
Proven experience across most business units
Previous experience owning or managing a company or autonomous business unit would be a distinct advantage
Additional needs to the above (the person must also have)
Character/personality that fits well with the BRi culture
Strong Commercial acumen – proven work history and performance
A professional and mature approach to work
Leadership must flex and balance to management style needed at all levels.
Strong and effective communication skills both written and verbal
Strong skills in the area of people & connectivity
Understanding of Information technologies – market knowledge
Ability to motivate and influence others at all levels.
