Ironwood Australia is Australia’s leading and foremost supplier of recycled Australian hardwood timbers (formerly known as the Rozelle Recycled Building Centre) and has been established for in excess of 20 years and our recycled hardwood timbers are sought after and specified by some of Australia’s most well known and highly regarded architects, project managers, interior designers, property stylists, property developers, hoteliers and hospitality groups and restauranteurs as well as DIY renovators who want to add some character to their renovation project.

Description            

This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Office Manager you will work with stakeholders from all Functional Areas to ensure the profitable achievement of sales objectives associated with the assigned market, segment. Also, is responsible for sales productivity, and directs efforts in order to have the greatest overall impact on company results. You will assist customers in understanding our products and identify solutions to fit their needs, generating sales and renewals, whilst continuing to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction levels. Working closely with the Office manager you must communicate constantly to ensure that targets are met, orders are processed within the required time frames and ultimately build on the brand identity and corporate position. The role will require drive, commitment and a pro-active, flexible approach.

Key Role Function:

  • Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and when in the office walk in customers and convert into sales in a professional and efficient manner to generate sales cross-sell and up-sell.
  • Educate the customer on our product range and offer a variety of product related solutions to clients.
  • Set clear and achievable expectations with customers and consistently achieve them.
  • Respond to customer enquiries with an initial response within 24hrs in a professional manner.
  • Receive and process orders on behalf of customers in an efficient and accurate manner, as well as providing order status updates.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and demonstrate how we can add value to their business.
  • Identify potential customer needs/ opportunities to grow our business.
  • Appropriately communicate brand identity and corporate position.
  • Make outbound follow-up calls on a daily basis to existing and potential customers who have expressed an interest in our products cross-sell and up-sell.
  • Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database.
  • Attend weekly customer service meetings and attend all product-training sessions.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies including OH&S.
  • Proactively contribute to the ongoing development of departmental processes and policies.
  • Cold-call prospects that are generated by external sources of lead.
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts.
  • Collaborate with appropriate team members to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
  • Manage and grow key business partnerships ensuring long term growth and profitability
  • Pre/Post-deal account management of key clients - acting as primary contact for defined partner set and working with them to support and grow partnership
  • Taking a leading role in growing the Mid North Coast Market on behalf of Ironwood
  • To identify strategic initiatives to drive growth in the business – ALL Major Accounts & Key Projects Builders / Developers and architects.
  • Drive new business initiatives and innovation to meet the needs of the changing markets. To make yourself aware of the customer’s business requirements so that you can tailor and customize solutions to meet the best requirements of the customer.
  • Ensure alignment of pricing strategies to the overall business strategy
  • Stay current on existing and emerging product and technologies.
  • Cooperates with Sydney Sales team to secure mutual business through joint calls.
  • Maintains a professional/working image in self and work environment including vehicle.
  • Completes sales call and expense reports on a timely basis in accordance with company policy.
  • Work closely with the Office Manager to develop, implement and maintain a detailed sales plan in line with the strategic direction of the business to support sales and profitability goals.
  • Take an active role when new stock arrives to ensure the latest products are marketed and sold to deliver the best results.
  • Use the latest stock information to understand what products are slow moving and create innovative ways to stimulate sales.
  • To turn strategic planning into tangible results.
  • Strive to meet the personal sales targets set and support the wider sales team to achieve their targets.
  • Have a full working knowledge of the ERP system and continually strive to identify system efficiency improvements and ensure all uses in your area are working within the system requirements.
  • You will be expected to collaborate in other tasks and activities that will be out of your main responsibilities.

 

You will have a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the timber or hardware industries. You will have a demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals and achieve sales quotas. You will exhibit a positive, friendly and helpful attitude with customers and to be sensitive to their needs. You will be a great communicator, have a can-do attitude, and will be eager to immerse yourself into our fast-paced environment. You will have solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management. If you had an understanding of reclaimed or recycled timber and some experience with Lean Manufacturing principles this would be a clear advantage. You will have a clean drivers licence and you are seeking a pivotal role that will see you develop and deliver on your sales plan and make a positive difference in the sales results.  You will be an Australian Resident with fluent English.  Your ability to communicate and work with people at all levels, and support process improvements will also be critical to your success.
