Australian Flooring Supplies (AFS) is a leading national flooring organisation with near 50 years expertise in the Australian market. We are a highly reputable multi-faceted business with focus on the commercial, retail and trade markets. AFS is currently expanding its presence across Australia and an opportunity exists for a talented sales professional within the flooring industry, to take charge of the regions customer base.

Role
Based from Newcastle or a surrounding area, you’ll work closely with our branch managers and Territory Sales Manager. Further, you’ll be championed with driving the sales within the region to achieve the 2018 budget. The types of products AFS market and sell include textile & resilient floorcoverings, laminate flooring as well as a comprehensive range of flooring accessories. Key to this role is enthusiasm, initiative and above all else - hands on sales leadership. Essentially your mandate is to maximise market share by building and fostering relationships with new and existing customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and implements sales plans designed to achieve the corporate & marketing goals.
    1. Actively participates in the writing of the sales and marketing plans.
    2. Sets goals and action plans and a timetable to achieve them.
    3. Communicates those plans throughout the company.
  2. Manages the profitability of the territory sales to meet the agreed budget.
    1. Establishes product mix sales plans.              

 

  1. Participates in sales forecasting activities.
    1. Actively participates and takes responsibility for pipeline specifications, sales and projects won.
    2. Develops forecasting plans for the designated territory.

 

  1. Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
    1. Implements a sales approach, manages and targets key clients to build a product supply offer where appropriate.
    2. Develops and manages information systems to measure and inform on performance.
  1. Represents the company at trade association events to promote AFS.
    1. Actively seeks to get AFS a higher profile in Industry Association meetings.
  1. Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with the AFS sales team.
  1.  Maintaining existing relationships, negotiating and closing deals.
  1. Prepares weekly and monthly activity reports, showing specification pipeline, project wins, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  1. Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
  1. Liaise actively with AFS senior executives on product development, range enhancement and supplier issues.
  1. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. You must have a minimum of 5 years’ sales experience. Whilst it’s not essential, prior experience within the flooring industry would be advantageous. The successful applicant must be a competent user of Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word & Excel.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:

As this position requires traveling to meet with customers, a current NSW drivers license is required.
