About this opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and results driven individual to hold the position of State Sales Manager. As a key member of the Sales Team, you will hold the responsibility of achieving sales targets, budgeted EBIT and operating expenses within budget for NSW and ACT. To do this, you will operate your extensive experience and knowledge through the effective execution of all National Promotions, together with implementing state based promotions to ensure the successful delivery of all budgeted targets. The role will be based in Balmain, Sydney.

Reporting National Sales Manager - Independents, your main duties will include:

  • Developing and delivering joint business plans that achieve company brand sales, marketing and trade spend objectives as well as trading partners key goals;
  • Implementing profitable promotional programs with all State Wholesalers and independent Banner groups;
  • Maintaining and continuously improve professional working relationships, both internally and externally;
  • Ensuring Territory Managers achieve budgeted case and revenue sales targets, as well as Trade Standards across all stores;
  • Ensuring successful growth of new outlets across major account, store levels and on-premise;
  • Implementing agreed sales & marketing plans that deliver sales targets & EBIT;
  • Effectively managing, coaching & developing Territory Managers to ensure optimal performance, together with implementing skills training; and
  • Providing regular feedback on consumer and trade trends.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have a proactive can do' attitude and a minimum 5-7 years experience of account management and people management, within liquor or FMCG or related industry. A great understanding of the NSW/ACT liquor industry and its customers will be advantageous. This will be complemented by your outstanding leadership and people management skills coupled with your excellent business acumen and ability to respond well under pressure. Your exceptional written and oral communication skills along with your ability to effectively plan and innovate will add further to your success.

Tertiary qualifications in Business, Wine or Management is essential, as is demonstrated knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
