We are looking for a Key Account Manager to join the team in either Melbourne or Sydney to establish, grow and maintain strong working relationships with the organisation’s key strategic account partners with the aim of meeting sales budgets and increasing market share.  This role will encompass all relationships across allocated strategic accounts including dealer group, platform, multimanager and adviser relationships.

 

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

  • Build, maintain and grow strong relationships with allocated strategic accounts as set by the business
  • Responsible for relationships across the entire account including dealer group research and head office, platform, multimanager and advisers. Activity will be focused on one on one and one to many sales activities with designated panel
  • Work with research teams to be included in their asset class reviews and to be included in APLs, multimanager portfolios and model portfolios
  • Maintain existing and addition of new funds on APLs, models and platforms
  • Primary relationship responsibility for multimanager clients and work closely with Client Services and other internal teams to meet client needs and ensure an integrated relationship
  • Develop, implement and maintain business plans for key and prospective clients
  • Develop and offer strategic partnerships for key strategic accounts as identified by the business
  • Work closely with sales team with the common goal of growing the distribution footprint of Franklin Templeton Investments in Australia
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal FT business units
  • Attend industry and dealer group seminars and conferences and in conjunction with marketing expand Franklin Templeton investment personnel involvement at industry and client conferences

 

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Post Graduate finance qualification preferred (for example CFA or CIMA)
  • 7 to 10 years of equivalent sales or service experience
  • A proven track record in business development and key account management in funds management
  • Strong knowledge of financial services industry, funds management strategies and key competitors
  • Established relationships with key retail distribution and research partners
  • Independent and motivated with effective time management
  • Strong sales skills and sales process including ability to run sales pipeline and client segmentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver strong sales presentations
  • Excellent in-person presentation skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced, team environment
  • Working knowledge of business desktop applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • PS 146 compliant
  • Travel is required within Australia for respective accounts with adviser client coverage
