UOW Pulse Ltd is the social heartbeat at the University of Wollongong. We deliver hospitality, entertainment and activities, food and retail, childcare and much more as a not-for-profit commercial entity of the University to the campus and broader community.
Aspire Events and Catering operate two of the most iconic university campus landscapes in the country boasting some of the region's most impressive event spaces. We operate from our own on-site state of the art kitchen and prepare food for catering as well as events such as luncheons, board meetings, single or multi-day conferences, gala dinners, cocktail parties or school formals.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is responsible for driving, maintaining and developing mutually productive business relationships with all current and future stakeholders.
An exemplary level of customer service, communication and presentation is required. Ability and determination to prospect and identify new clients, opportunities for growth and increase repeat business is a must.
This role is a key sales contact for Aspire and will maintain and deliver strong, measurable sales results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leverage internal and external contacts to identify, pursue and close sales opportunities.
- Respond to requests for conference, event and catering proposals including following up and conversion process.
- Understand the financial targets and key revenue drivers for the department and maximise revenue through up-selling strategies.
- Create documentation including proposals, contracts, invoices and event orders.
- Assist in the coordination of conferences, events and catering with clients in the lead up, during and post event.
- Work in collaboration with the operations teams to ensure all events and catering requirements are executed to exceed client expectations.
- Assist with sourcing, identifying and contacting new clients and opportunities for our business.
- Participate in sales and marketing activities as outlined by the Events & Venues Manager including trade shows, networking functions and promotional events.
- Proactively investigate new ways to reach goals and targets.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for this role you'll have:
- A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar sales based role.
- Demonstrated record of strong proactive sales, negotiation and conversion skills.
- Clear commitment to Customer Satisfaction, including demonstrated ‘Attention to Detail’, Time Management, Service Delivery and Quality Control skills.
- Good Relationship Management experience to foster business growth and development.
- Strong, clear and professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients from a variety of backgrounds and professions.
- A self-directed, passionate and career minded individual with a ‘Positive Attitude’ approach to the achievement of work objectives.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, “Venueops” experience desirable.
- Immaculate Grooming and presentation standards.
- Food and Beverage knowledge and operations experience desirable
- State if in possession of the following: RSA, Drivers license
