As an effective Business Development Manager, you demonstrate a track record of success identifying and negotiating sales opportunities and, as part of our exceptional team, create strategic, customised event solutions that exceed clients’ objectives.  The role requires a high-energy and targeted approach, communicationand sales expertise, attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Combined with our record of designing bespoke events for over 25 years, we are seeking to create a winning and rewarding relationship. 

Responsibilities:

With an ability to innovate and think outside the square, you can identify strategic new ways to generate and secure active prospects.

Personable and solution-oriented, you develop positive client relationships to educate, showcase and sell Events services.

With imagination and attention to detail, you can pitch and develop proposals with the Veritas team including budgeting for a variety of event types and sizes.

You can proactively drive leads through the sales cycles to generate maximum revenue, and generate client contracts for signature. 

You can conduct team handovers efficiently and comprehensively to ensure a smooth transition both internally and client facing.

You can generate regular reports on performance, including sales forecasting.

You can meet, and frequently exceed, sales revenue targets.

The Candidate

As the ideal candidate, you will be a highly driven individual who thrives on hunting for new business with an outgoing and service-focused personality. You relish chasing new prospects, building rapport and focussing on proactive selling techniques. Motivated by identifying leads and closing sales, you attain job satisfaction from seeing revenue numbers exceed forecasts and expect to be generously rewarded for your proven expertise.

Requirements 

Previous sales experience (at least 3 years) is essential and a knowledge of the Event Management industry is desirable. Tertiary qualifications are highly desirable.

Proven track record in driving new sales and meeting, if not exceeding, targets.

Proficient in Microsoft software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

Excellent proposal and presentation skills with an ability to present complex solutions tostakeholders at all levels and from all backgrounds.

Exceptional communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal .

Flexible, detail oriented and the ability to work under pressure.

Independent and collaborative with strong organizational skills.
