Business Development Manager - Mackay

About Hassalls

Hassalls (a business unit of the Pickles Group) are a specialist auction, remarketing and valuation company with primary focus on servicing the mining and industrial sector.  Hassalls is a small vibrant team where people come first, where self-managed motivated people excel in a team that boasts an excellent working culture.

The Role

Directly reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and maintain both new and existing client relationships via our CRM
  • Gain insights into the needs of both new and existing clients and provide remarketing/disposal initiatives and solutions
  • Develop new business opportunities for Hassalls of relevant Industry enterprises into Hassalls clients
  • Assist where required on large event sales, both from an operational and sales perspective
  • Foster and alert prospective buyers when equipment suiting their needs becomes available
  • Monitor and report on market conditions and activities of competitors
  • Respond to customer enquiries promptly, politely and accurately
  • Team effectively with other Hassalls staff and departments

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • The ability to plan ahead and strategically use the CRM to schedule client interactions
  • Excellent organisational, negotiation and time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Someone who enjoys dealing with very Senior Leaders but also the grass roots customer
  • Competent MS Office skills
  • High level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently, whilst also collaborating effectively with team members
  • Open Queensland driver's licence
  • A strong commitment to delivering customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work to monthly budget and KPI requirements
  • Experience in sales and/or business development and experience in managing a CRM
  • Willingness to work outside of the norm 9-5 hours to suit our customers /corporate clients
  • Pride in their performance and a will to win
  • Flexibility to travel, as travel is required in this role which includes Mackay to Clermont and area’s between.
