About the role

  • Achieve the revenue and gross profit targets in line with Company directives and objectives
  • Delivers a customer obsession approach which ensures the highest level of service for our customers
  • First point of contact for customer enquiries, quotations, opportunity management and post sales enquiries
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the clientele business, resulting in knowledgeable contribution pro-active sales support & increased business
  • Analyse and monitor the performance of the customer base to identify areas of opportunity and to pre-empt customer issues
  • Ensure customers are kept up to date with relevant developments from all vendors and Westcon – Comstor services
  • Articulate the Westcon Group value messaging in a professional and consistent manner
  • Support the marketing team in delivering appropriate marketing campaigns to the local customer base
  • Support all vendor marketing initiatives by delivering them to the customer base
  • Ensure sales pipeline is accurate and remains full of qualified opportunities and leads 
  • Achieve set metrics for engagement activity (call / email) and forecasting
  • Develop and execute strategic customer account planning 
  • Identify, form and continue rapport with key customer and vendor stakeholders  
  • Coordinate with field sales team members to ensure opportunities are transferred and goals are met.
  • Broker extended experts across business into customers with a strong view on return on investment
  • Allocate time effectively to ensure customer expectations are achieved and role requirements are met.
  • Ensure accurate and complete information is captured in CRM.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 3 year experience in a business-2-business environment
  • Understanding of and ability to apply pricing, gross profit, discounts, margin calculations
  • Proven experience delivering exceptional customer service
  • Track record of over-achieving quota and KPIs
  • IT channel experience is highly preferable
  • Commercial acumen, skilled in negotiation and influencing
  • Strong expectation setting and delivery skills
  • Sound conflict resolution skills
  • Understanding of the sales administration process
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong phone presence
  • Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times
  • Sense of urgency and willingness to use initiative
  • Previous experience with SAP would be highly regarded
  • Strong time management skills, can prioritise multiple tasks effectively
  • Can operate under pressure and achieve objectives
  • Can operate independently of day to day line management
  • A team player – co-operative worker
  • Strong work ethic, is proactive and motivated  
  • Ability to work in self-directed, fast paced environment
  • Proficient CRM and computer skills, including email, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
