We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, data-driven and versatile state sales manager to join our team in this newly created role. This role is highly varied including developing and executing growth strategies, face-to-face servicing of your own customers and leading your state team of dedicated sales representatives.
The perfect candidate is analytical, highly people-oriented and must have the ability to positively lead and empower a team. Most importantly, the ideal candidate is a leader who is humble, hard-working and inspiring.
About the role:
You will be an integral part of the team and play a critical role in strategising, planning and growing B2B stockist sales with your state team.
This role will be based in Sydney (remote from our head office in Brisbane). You will travel regularly including:
- Travel throughout NSW to service customers and support your team
- Visiting head office in Brisbane
- Attending trade fairs
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Planning
- Design and execute a strategic sales plan for your state aligned with the strategy and KPIs provided by the greater business
- Perform analysis of state sales data and trends to identify opportunities
- Immerse yourself within the industry and monitor competitor activity
- Assist with forecasting and planning future sales volumes for your state
- Plan & organise state meetings and training with your team
Empowering the Sales Team
- Effectively mentor and develop a highly effective state sales team
- Achieving growth and hitting state sales targets by successfully managing your team and your territory
- Manage recruitment, objective setting, coaching and performance of your state team
- Identify growth opportunities for each of your team and support their growth as sales professionals
- Coach team members through customer conflict resolution
Reporting, Budgeting & Financial Management
- Direct accountability for state sales performance
- Direct accountability to ensure state sell-out of seasonal launches
- Report sales and KPI performance to management on a weekly and/or monthly basis

Your Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in B2B sales (including on road experience)
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar managerial role
