About the business
Goonawarra winery located in the heart of Sunbury, 10 minutes from Melbourne Airport and 30 minutes from the CBD, Goona Warra Vineyard is a majestic & historic bluestone venue established 1863, and re-established in 1983.
The venue comprises of 2 historic buildings with 4 indoor spaces available to hire for private functions (Cellar, Great Hall, Cottage and Stables) and many terraces and gardens for outdoor use.
Due to business development, the boutique Winery is currently seeking a full time professional Restaurant Manager to manage delivery of Weddings, Private & Corporate Functions.
About the role
• Assisting upper management (Events Manager / BDM & Winery Managers) to launch the new Goona Warra concept;
• Manage delivery of exceptional service to Weddings (including Ceremonies), Private Functions and conference delegates;
• Manage delivery of service for Sunday lunch and Café;
• Staff Hiring, training and development to ensure high standards of service are met to a professional level;
• Staff Rosters in accordance to function needs, including meeting budgets.
• Administration tasks of reconciliation of monies, data entry for wages and other admin tasks set by upper management.
• Stock management including meeting targets, ordering, rotation of stock, ensuring correct stock is ordered and ready for service, stocktakes and wastage management.
• Implementation of occupational health and safety code & manuals.
• Meet budgeted restaurant KPI's including revenue and food cost targets;

• Track record of delivering exceptional customer service in a similar environment
Skills and experience
At least 10 years industry experience
Tafe or university qualified in Hotel Management or Food and Beverage desirable.
