About the Role 

Interested in taking ownership of SME customer segment? This is an opportunity to rethink and transform SME segment to be leading within the energy sector!

Due to an internal move, we are recruiting a Manager of Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) Sales who is responsible for AGL’s performance within the business sales group. Leading a team of Channel Managers, the Manager SME Sales will strategically align AGL’s resources to maximise the value of SME sales. Utilising external sales channels and partners in addition to AGL’s direct sales team, the Manager SME Sales will have accountability for delivering sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing the overarching strategy for the area, including delivering additional value for our SME business customers beyond energy sales 
  • Supporting and coaching a team of six high performing Channel Managers   
  • Management of all internal and external sales channels & partnerships
  • Driving development of new products based on analytics and insights to increase value for our SME customers
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to position AGL as a leading SME provider by proactively working across the organisation, including Marketing, Pricing, Customer Solutions, Energy Services and Wholesale teams
  • Actively managing high level relationships with our key external partnerships 

About You   

We are looking for an individual who is customer centric and interested in driving innovation of an evolving customer market segment. You will also have:

  • Strong influencing and negotiation capabilities with a demonstrated ability to engage at all levels with internal and external stakeholders   
  • Demonstrated ability to develop significant new business opportunities
  • Proven success leading a high performing sales team and driving exceptional sales results
  • Highly developed analytical skills to critically monitor and assess the performance of the SME business
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a P/L
