The Opportunity 

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, professional Proposal Manager to lead proposals and marketing strategies in tendering for new business with TransGrid. You will identify winning strategies associated with tenders in conjunction with account managers and provide strategic oversight to proposals and marketing systems. 

Job Overview

As a Proposal Manager you will:  

  • Review the inquiry documents for special requirements and distribute and estimate preparation
  • Prepare and lead Proposal and pricing strategy, by undertaking initial assessment of the technical, financial, schedule
  • Work with the Business Unit Manager and Account Manager to prepare a proposal plan that meets the objectives of the customer and TransGrid’s commercial objectives
  • Develop and implement partnering and project bid team strategies to maximize Transgrid commercial success
  • Provide market and proposal reporting on pricing sensitivity
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial requirements, developing, implementing and operating budgets for management activities
  • Coordinate the management of internal stakeholders and supplier proposal inputs and outputs
  • Direct the production of proposals and external pricing information
  • Manage bid budgets and associated tendering cost
  • Governance of Proposals to ensure approval of tenders to meet deadlines
  • Achieve and meet agreed win/loss strategies
  • Identify budget and governance strategies to produce proposals cost effectively and efficiently
  • Manage portfolio of customer projects and provide oversight to business performance
  • Manage risk, quality, resources, communications, procurement, cost control and schedule control associated with the tenders and customer opportunities
  • Identify resourcing and key personal for bid teams to ensure efficient proposal delivery
  • Coordinating the proposal team in accordance with the proposal plan to ensure accurate and timely completion of proposal schedules and supporting documentation in accordance with client requirements
  • Manages approvals for pricing and proposal offers to ensure board governance and commercial risk parameters for the business are addressed
  • Develops and manages counterparty and commercial risk strategies for non-regulated proposals
  • Undertake competitor pricing analysis
  • Identify and implement key strategies for major bids including partnering and contract terms for suppliers for bids with capital investment
  • Provide business leadership on commercial strategies and change management of proposal and biding strategies
To be considered for the position, you will have:

  • Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • Extensive experience in the development of proposals and bids
  • Experience in pricing bids and proposals 
  • Experience in finance models to develop annuitized charging strategies
  • Extensive experience working in multidisciplinary organisations in roles that requires coordination of multiple inputs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound knowledge and experience with relevant document and graphic editing software
  • Knowledge and experience with relevant database systems, particularly CRM (e.g. Salesforce) preferable
  • Excellent time management and the ability to manage through competing priorities under pressure
  • Excellent key stakeholder management
  • A current NSW Drivers License

Note: Minimum 24 months fixed term contract with a potential to extend
