First Data is looking for a pro-active, competent and independent specialist who will act as a partner and advisor to our local and regional HR Business Partners and Managers. 

Based in our North Sydney office, the incumbent will be part of the Asia Pacific HR team and front the HR operations and payroll support for Australia and New Zealand.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Payroll processing

  • Responsibility for the monthly payroll preparation and processing for Australian & New Zealand employees.

  • Responsible for monthly legislative compliance such as: Government Paid Parental Leave, Child Support Payments, Superannuation Payments and Payroll Tax Lodgement.

  • Manage the End of Financial Year activities including preparation and distribution of Payment Summaries and ESS Statements.

  • Handling payroll related questions from employees and management as necessary. 

  • Assist with monthly, annual and ad-hoc reporting as required
     
  • Assist with  the HR Help Desk cases
     
  • Maintaining up to date payroll records.

·         HR operations

  • Operational and administrative support to all relevant stakeholders, such as recruitment and on-boarding/off-boarding activities, benefits and leave and internal mobility activities.
     
  • Handling employee boarding checklists and probationary documents.
     
  • Supports the orientation and induction of new employees and interns. 
     
  • Creating Offer Letters, Employment Agreements, Flexible Work Arrangements and other ad-hoc letters as required.
     
  • Assisting the HR team with the year end performance review cycle.
     
  • Administration of all employee records in PeopleSoft.
     
  • Advise and assist in resolving HR issues that may be escalated directly to you or through global HR Helpdesk; and
     
  • Ensure that HR documents are filed in accordance with audit requirements.

·         Projects

  • Participate in regional or global or regional HR global projects

Experience and Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of local HR Operations and Payroll experience is required
  • Experience with systems such as PeopleSoft, ADP and Taleo Recruitment is desirable.
  • University Degree in Business, Commerce or Human Resources is desirable.
  • Must be proactive, a team player and willing to learn new challenges.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
