About the Company
My client is seeking a Payroll Officer to join their small high performing team. They are results focused and not just a payroll function. They get involved with pre-employment, termination EBA’s and contract preparation duties for the whole company across the APAC region. With over 2,000 employees this company is well known for their positive environmental impact across the world.

The Role
As a Payroll Officer, reporting to the Payroll Supervisor you will supervise the weekly and monthly pays for over 800 employees across Australia, NZ and PNG.
 
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for:
  • Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly pays in a timely and accurate manner
  • Processing pre-employment checks for new staff including conducting checks for criminal history and work rights
  • Preparing contracts of employment and addendums for new and existing staff
  • Providing timely and accurate advice, assistance and responses to internal and external customer queries
  • Ensuring all new starter documents have been received and completed in full, and the information is entered into the HRIS
  • Preparing workers compensation earnings/ACC (NZ) for relevant employees,
  • Preparing reconciliations on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis and process end of month transactions and payments
  • Involvement with projects relevant to Remuneration, Benefits and HR Systems
  • Processing accurate termination payments in accordance with the relevant industrial instrument
  • Other related adhoc duties
Skills & experience
  • Be career driven
  • Thrive on complex HR issues & be able to demonstrate problem solving abilities in HR and Payroll
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Prove your knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
  • Qualifications ideal but not essential
  • Previous experience with Kronos and Chris 21 or related systems highly considered
