Working as part of the Wesfarmers Group, your role will consist of effectively running a store, maximising profits and customer experiences while minimising costs in line with Target’s values.

About our Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experience HR Business Partner to join our amazing team in Sydney.  Reporting to the State HR Manager, the key focus in this position is to Partner with the respective client group to develop and deliver key people initiatives to support the overall business strategy, in line with Target’s values.

Other key responsibilities may include:

  • Support line managers throughout the recruitment process, ensuring the key skills and attributes are recruited to deliver the Target strategy and supports the Diversity strategy, reflecting our customers and the communities work within 
  • Provide organisation design to support the Client Group, focusing on having the right people in the right roles to support Target’s strategy 
  • Work with the Client Group to build internal succession plans, identifying business critical roles and development opportunities  
  • Identify training and development gaps within the teams and liaise with L & D to implement strategies to address these 
  • Own the induction, coaching and development to create a high performing team with clear measures, development plans and support mechanisms
  • Drive safety across the business and take accountability for a safe workplace by identifying and reporting safety concerns and leading by example by maintaining a safe working environment and demonstrating safe working behaviour
  • Coach and liaise with regional leaders to create a strong injury management and prevention culture within stores
  • Lead the Target vision, strategy and values within the team and across the organisation

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business or Human Resources along with strong working experience as a HR Business Partner in a high volume and fast-paced environment.  Demonstrated capability in developing HR strategies and plans that are aligned to the business strategy is essential as is demonstrated ability to lead and deliver projects along with well-developed knowledge of workplace relations principles.

The successful candidate needs to have proven capacity to work in a collaborative and respectful way in delivering the outcomes for the business. Resiliency in operating in an often ambiguous and fast paced environment is also a central requirement in being successful in this role.
