Join Australia's leading disability service organisation and engage with people who truly love what they do. This is a 6 month Fixed Term opportunity and requires an immediate start at our Belrose site.

Reporting to the Property Projects Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating corrective and preventative maintenance works on site. This will also involve the development and implementation of systems for responding to maintenance requests and ensuring compliance with HWNS safety standards.

You will have strong facilities management and safety experience (7+ years) including expertise and an in-depth understanding of Building Codes, workplace health and safety, statutory and legislative requirements.

As the central point of contact for maintenance requirements for employees and visitors, you will engage trades, coordinate on-site work and WHS inductions, log safety and hazard incidents, recommend and schedule preventative maintenance, and recommend amendments to policy as required.

Integral to your success will be your ability to plan and organise work for all corrective and preventative maintenance and effectively communicate in alignment with our organisational values.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Coordinate capital and maintenance works and develop long-term plans to address any gaps identified.
  • Develop and implement a maintenance reporting program.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures in alignment with work health and safety ensuring all maintenance and trade work activities comply with statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Manage and ensure efficient site operations including cleaning, security, car parking, contract maintenance and waste management.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding work undertaken that may impact their environment.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Degree qualified in Facilities Management/Work, Health and Safety and/or relevant trade.
  • Previous experience coordinating building corrective works and/or refurbishment.
  • Expert knowledge of Building Codes, WH&S and other relevant legislative requirements.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with a range of employees.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Experience in using software and IT for Facilities/ Work, Health and Safety.
