Stockhead, Australia’s most exciting new business news website, is looking for another journalist to join our growing team.
We launched Stockhead.com.au in 2017 to do business news better.
Think Vice or Buzzfeed for the stockmarket. And not the same old stories about the same old ASX-200 companies.
We think Australia’s best, untold stories lie with the other 2000 ASX stocks that barely rate a mention in the mainstream media.
We're looking to hire another journalist to help cover the hugely popular small cap resources and mining sector.
You'll be covering exciting themes that cross over into the broader media landcape such as battery metals and electric cars, IPOs, mining personalities, mini-booms like Pilbara gold and the sector's continuing recovery.
(We're not so interested in the big stocks like BHP and Rio because... well they're kind of boring).
We’re focused on story-driven business news that not only captivates and informs investors – but also breaks through to the general news agenda.

We are a busy newsroom made up of journalists around the country filing multiple stories per day.
You’ll need:
- Strong news gathering skills with a passion for scoops and unique story angles
- Experience in business journalism and a basic understanding of financial markets
- Resources experience preferred
- Top-notch writing and copy-editing skills
- Ability to work under pressure, juggling multiple stories and tasks
- Digital editing skills such as WordPress and basic Photoshop.
- Ability to work on both independent journalism and commercial content
- An interest in social, digital and native marketing
We are based in the Sydney CBD – but interested to hear from candidates across Australia.
