Event Operations Manager - Vivid Sydney & Sydney New Year's Eve at Darling Harbour

Destination NSW is the lead Government agency for the New South Wales (NSW) tourism and major events sectors. Our role is to market Sydney and NSW as one of the world's premier tourism and major events destinations; to secure major sporting and cultural events; to work in partnership with Business Events Sydney to win major international conventions and incentive travel reward programs; to develop and deliver initiatives that will drive visitor growth throughout the state; and to achieve the NSW Government's goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure within the state’s visitor economy by 2020.

Vivid Sydney, the world’s largest festival of Light, Music and Ideas is owned, managed and produced by Destination NSW. Vivid Sydney features large-scale light installations and projections - Vivid Light; music performances and collaborations - Vivid Music (including Vivid LIVE at the Sydney Opera House); and creative ideas, discussion and debate - Vivid Ideas, showcasing Sydney as the creative hub of the Asia-Pacific.

Destination NSW is responsible for the programming and operational delivery of Sydney New Year’s Eve at Darling Harbour.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Destination NSW is seeking applications and itemised quotations from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the provision of Event Operations Manager services for Vivid Sydney and Sydney New Year’s Eve at Darling Harbour. Please note this is not a position of employment, but a contract for supply of services.

The Event Operations Manager will work collaboratively with the Director, Event Development – Arts, Lifestyle & Entertainment; Vivid Sydney Project Director and, as necessary, the wider project teams, to effectively scope, plan, manage and execute event operations for both Sydney New Year’s Eve at Darling Harbour and Vivid Sydney.

This work includes overseeing the operational delivery of precincts that are produced and operated directly by Destination NSW whilst also ensuring appropriate guidance to, and seamless integration of, any applicable third-party produced or operated precincts.

WHAT DESTINATION NSW REQUIRES:

• A written response which addresses the Selection Criteria and Specifications of Service outlined in Annexure A
• A detailed and itemised quotation for Period 1
• A detailed and itemised quotation for Period 2
• Current curriculum vitae including details for two (2) referees.

• Unsuccessful applicants notified: 3 August 2018
• Commencement of Contract: August 2018 - exact date to be confirmed
