Daily Mail Australia is looking for an experienced Homepage Editor to join its editorial team in Sydney.
The role of Homepage Editor encompasses the daily management of editing the homepage and the news gathering processes relating to the editorial team.
In particular, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing the quality and output of news in alignment with the 24-hour news operation of Daily Mail Australia.
A proven track record of editing content in a fast-paced 24-hour digital news environment is essential.
Core responsibilities:
- Direct, develop and maintain the quality and output of rolling, 24-hour, digital news
- Establish a strong subediting process, manage breaking news and identify content that engages our readership
- Understand analytics and digital readership to help curate the site

Requirements include:
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in editing content for a newspaper, magazine or online news operation
• Ability to work within stringent deadlines
• Flexibility regarding shift patterns including night and weekend shifts
• Good technical knowledge of picture management and web publishing systems
• Understanding of legal covenants such as media law and editorial guidelines in Australia and globally is desirable.
