We are currently looking to engage a Software Asset Management Analyst who can support an enterprise wide program of work for a large and complex organization.

This role is a key member of the Software Asset Management (SAM) team working within the Managed SAM team for Dimension Data.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with great SAM knowledge and SAM toolset experience, and will manage all aspects of the SAM service delivery to existing and new Managed SAM clients who are medium to large enterprises.

This role is instrumental in helping evolve our Managed SAM capability with a focus on client relationship management across client and internal stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Service Delivery Manager for SAM existing and new clients
  • Provide analysis and recommendation on all aspects of SAM processes
  • Mange BAU activities with clients and be the first level of escalation for any operational service issues.
  • Provide advice and mentoring to SAM Analysts
  • Contribute to key strategies development & execution critical to the success of the SAM business in the branch
  • Assist with SAM business development (pipeline)
  • Assist with the preparation of tender documents and in the presentation to clients
  • Liaise with platform vendors for licensing and support
  • Collaborate with Technical analyst and lead in service delivery
  • This role will develop and maintain strong working relationship with Licensing Sales & client management team
  • This role is predominantly based in Sydney though some travel may be required interstate

Experience Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Software Asset Management standards and practices e.g.- ITIL SAM Best Practice / ISO 19770-1
  • Extensive understanding of SAM lifecycle processes (from software request, license pooling/checks, deployment through to retirement)
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise software vendor licensing programs including Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, Oracle and SAP.  
  • Working knowledge and understanding of software management toolsets such as Snow SLM and Flexera FNMS.
  • Excellent knowledge of the SAM marketplace and have a proven track record of delivering SAM service or SAM engagements.
  • The ideal candidate will be have a minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in overall SAM lifecycle, providing consultation around best practice in all lifecycle processes.
  • The candidate must demonstrate initiative, a professional attitude and have excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
  • Expert level of skills of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • MCP for Microsoft licensing for large organisations
  • MCP for Microsoft Designing, Assessing, Optimising Software Asset Management
  • Software Asset Management
  • ITIL Foundation
  • ISEB SAM Practitioner
  • IBSMA Practitioner Certified in Assessing Software Asset Management Processes (according to ISO/IEC 19770-1)
  • Expert working knowledge of ITIL Best Practice for Software Asset Management, ISO 19770-1, Microsoft SAM Optimisation Model and FAST (FSSC-1:2007)
