The organisation is a joint venture between two well-known and successful companies. With a mix of nationally and internationally recognised organisations in aviation, retail, commercial, leisure, logistics and automotive precincts, our client  connects employers and employees, suppliers and retailers, and goods and services to the local and domestic marketplace.

With more than one million residents living within 15 minutes' drive of this precinct, and up to 2.6 million residing within 30 minutes' drive, 

This established precinct is well positioned to cater for a wide range of businesses, services and jobs in Melbourne's growing North-West. The location currently accounts for more than 6,000 people on site  across a range of industries with a further 13,000 jobs forecast to be created. .

About the role

Our client employs around 50 employees and the company has an exciting role to manage the entire I.T. function, which includes the management of Hardware, Software, Phone and Cameras as well as the the external vendor relationships. It will report directly to the Finance Manager.

It is expected that a measure of success will be the day to day I.T. requirements of the employees are met, as well as a cost reduction in the reliance on an external I.T. providers. Initially the role will be software focused but the servers will ultimately be brought back inhouse and under your management.

Approximately 120-150 items are logged monthly through the help desk and it will be your role to ensure these issues are resolved in a timely and acceptable manner, with minimal impact to the business.

This role is by no means a back-office hardware management role. The company are embarking on the replacement and introduction of new software systems, which include CRM, Document Management, building maintenance etc. and it would be your sole responsibility to liaise with external vendors, compile business cases and make recommendations to the CEO on the optimal solutions for the company.

Skills and experience

  • A stable career history in a similar role
  • Relevant IT qualifications and certifications
  • It is envisaged you have worked in an IT role for an established and reputable organisation with a similar number of employees. (50)

  • The proven ability to work at a 'hands on' operational level
  • A desire to make a difference
  • The ability to engage with all levels of the organisation from end users to the CEO
