About the Product

The CR-X software product is a unique and an exciting application builder, as it provides both rapid application development andvery fast runtime speeds.  Application developers use a “point and click” and “pick from list” interface to quickly define data elements, to define processing rules, and to schedule when and where the processing is to take place.

CR-X applications have been built for a range of uses such as providing data analytics, interconnection between dissimilar computer systems, handling data encoding, custom formatting, data compression, data mapping and enrichment, filtering, aggregation and other uses that support our customers’ business requirements.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst Programmer to join the Global Delivery Team.  The purpose of the role will be to analyse requirements, design solutions and implement those solutions using the CR-X software product.  The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, innovative all-rounder with a hands-on attitude who can work well in a team. A working knowledge of data elements in flat files, in databases and in network traffic is essential.  Strong Unix skills are also essential.

This position will report to the Global Delivery Manager but will normally communicate with CR-X staff at all levels.

Senior Programmer Analyst Tasks:

·      Design new software applications.

·      Conceive, experiment with, and present architectural approaches for software applications.

·      Problem-solve and implement solutions, whilst minimising disruption to production systems.

·      Understand database technologiesand be able to incorporate them into client applications.

·      Understand compressionand encryptiontechnologies and be able to incorporate them into client applications.

·      Understand web-server technologiesand be able incorporate them into client applications.

·      Follow a software life cyclefor developing, building, testing and documenting of applications.

We are looking for a person who is excited by technology and keen to be immersed in the above activities. Previous experience in all the above areas is notnecessary, however an ability to take on new skills to meet these activities is absolutely essential.  CR-X is able to provide significant mentoring in these areas, however the person we are seeking will eventually be providing assistance to others, rather than seeking advice.  Working cooperatively within a team, and working productively alone, are both essential.

A minimum qualification of Bachelor of Computer Science(or similar) is needed for this role.  Also essential, is in-depth experience in at least one programming language, together with problem solving and debugging skills.  Strong Unix skills are required.  Fluency in English is required (for producing technical documentation).

It would also be useful to have experience with project estimation, database SQL knowledge and business intelligence / visualisation tools.
