We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to work on a 6-month contract in the Adelaide CBD. This is a developer role and involves designing, implementing and unit testing Java solutions. The successful candidate will play a significant role in the ongoing development and enhancement of client’s applications, including business intelligence and digitial services.
Duties & responsibilities
• Write detailed design specifications
• Contribute to the architecture as prescribed by the Technical Architect
• Peer review architecture and design specifications
• Implement code as defined in the architecture and design specifications
• Unit test all code
• Work with the Test Manager to facilitate testing of code
• Fix bugs and implement change requests with code
• Provide third-level application support and problem resolution to minimise the impact of application related service outages
Skills & experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Java Developer (Java SE 7 onwards) Knowledge of software configuration management, continuous build and integration tools; and automation tools such as SVN, Bamboo and Crucible
Spring 3 onwards
Continuous Integration
Unit testing (JUnit or similar)
Source and Version Control (SVN)
Eclipse IDE
Hibernate 3 onwards
Good communication and time management skills
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of RDMBS such as DB2, SQL and Unix Scripting
Knowledge of BPMN workflow and Drools rules engine
Experience with messaging systems
