IT Support - Network and Information Security
Primary IT Support duties (Network and Security)
Networks
- Maintaining software and hardware
- Monitoring systems for glitches or disturbances
- Analyzing technical issues and developing solutions
- Establishing, maintaining, securing and upgrading networks
- Keep updated on knowledge in the field
- Experience in:
- access software (e.g. Citrix Hot technology and Tivoli)
- administration software (e.g. CiscoWorks; SolarWinds)
- network address management software
- documentation software and shutdown software
- application server software (e.g. Citrix XenApp, Red Hat WildFly)
- backup or archival software (e.g. System disaster recovery software, Veritas NetBackup)
- configuration management software
Information Security
- Protect systems by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
- Recognise problems by identifying abnormalities; reporting violations.
- Implement security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
- Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.
- Upgrade system by implementing and maintaining security controls.
- Keeps users informed by preparing performance reports; communicating system status.
- Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Secondary IT Support duties (General)
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
- Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
- Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
- Setting up accounts for new users
- Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
- Testing new technology
- Possibly training more junior staff members
- Perform root cause analysis, develop checklists for typical problems and recommend procedures and controls for problem prevention.
- Assist the IT Support Technician (Software) with implementation of software as required.

Requirements:
- Experience with managing an IT team
- Experience maintaining a corporate network
- Experience implanting and managing network and server security
- Two to five years of hands-on experience working in an end-user desktop support role or computer operations environment required.

- Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, XP and Vista
- Windows Server 2003 and 2008 and 2012. 2016
- Active Directory
- Remote Desktop support
- Patch management
- Advanced printer / peripheral device troubleshooting
- TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
- Remote support for handheld smartphones and tablets
