This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your current DBA experience within a large IT department with a global leader!

Responsibilities will include:

• Design, ‎Installation and configuring Database systems, patches and upgrades.
• Implementing new Databases and associated objects.
• Monitoring and reporting on Database service availability.
• Managing the development, testing and production Database environments.
• Conducting all aspects of capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of relational databases.
• Implementing and auditing Database security.
• Performing backup and recovery of corporate Databases.
• Liaising with application users to confirm requirements for system, backup and other requirements.
• Contributing to the development of policies and procedures governing Allianz
• Database operations and related issues.
• Follow standards and best practices related to the migration of data between non production environments and between production applications, employing effective segregation of duties.
• Follow Business Naming Standards and nomenclature.
• Ensure that data in all environments complies with Allianz Security standards and other regulatory requirements e.g. Privacy requirements
• Design and implement database configuration, file system structures, plan and design database upgrades and amendments including data masking and encryption

In order to be considered and successful for this vacancy you will possess:

• High Level experience in implementation and running of midrange Db2 databases
• Experience in relational database design and data modeling - experience with Data Architect, ERwin or ER/Studio
• Database performance monitoring and tuning
• Highly developed skills in Unix Korn Shell Scripting
• Experience with IBM data replication tools Q-Rep and CDC Replication
• Experience if DR recovery using HADR
• Highly developed skills in troubleshooting and problem correction.  Ability to work both independently and in a team to correct production problems
• Well developed skills in associated Database programming languages such as PL/SQL, SQL
• Highly developed skills in Linux operating system
• Leadership skills and ability to mentor other team members
• Good understanding of the business information needs of the organisation.
• Good communication skills.
• Out of Hours work required for Production support and data deployments.
