About the Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate Enterprise Data Developer to join an engaging team of experienced data developers. The position will support the management, documentation and development of information management and business intelligence functions within IT.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the development of management information components that are required by projects and business users.
• Assisting with the interpretation of the requirements of key business processes and project objectives, and develop solutions.
• Contributing to the process of simplifying and consolidating the management information environment.
• Ensuring data management processes meet applicable Enterprise Data, compliance, privacy, quality and audit standards.

• Responding to data incidents raised by the business
• Performing scheduled processing that delivers data in the required formats to Finance and Actuarial users.
• Delivering structured data to the required standards of accuracy to business stakeholders, internal applications and other systems such as data marts / data warehouses
• Collaborating with counterparts elsewhere within TAL to improve data consistency
• Developing solutions such as extracts and reports to meet requirements
• Working with the Data Quality Tech Lead towards increasing the reliability and availability of data across TAL.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• 3+ years’ experience with SQL Server / TSQL in a large commercial environment
• Experienced using Visual Studio 2012 / 2015 with SSDT
• Experienced using SQL Server 2008, 2012+ Stack skills (particularly SSIS and T-SQL but also SSRS,SSAS)
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle methodologies
• Experienced in Agile methodologies and code review
• Experienced in using GIT, GitHub / GitLab / BitBucket
• Good understanding of branching / merging strategies for code base
• Experienced in using a Continuous Integration tool such as TeamCity, Jenkins etc.
• Experienced in using Octopus or similar deployment tools
• Excellent problem solving / analytical skills
• Good written / verbal communication skills
