About the Role:

The purpose of this role is to be the practice lead for all solution architecture and design within the organisation. This includes providing leadership to programs and projects on solution architecture and ensuring that all solution architecture is documented and delivered in line with established standards and templates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility as practice lead for the solution architecture function.
• Assesses and communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of IT solutions.
• Supports the ICT planning process and strategic development of ICT assets in the context of organisational goals and stated direction.
• Evaluates, aligns and maps technology alternatives to deliver desired business outcomes, in accordance with agreed ICT and organisational direction.
• Develop and implement plans for reducing complexity of information systems in a cost effective manner, for example, by decreasing the number of applications or moving away from legacy systems.
• Implement the architecture and technology standards, roadmaps, patterns and methodologies for all information, applications and infrastructure across the organisation, and ensure those standards are published, updated, and communicated.
• Provide architectural direction and support to domain / solution & infrastructure architects.
• Take an enterprise perspective and align respective domain considerations, such that there is an end-to-end aligned architecture.
• Ensure technology alignment with the organisation through applying and managing domain / architecture and business integration functions to deliver a consistent integrated approach to managing business requirements.
• Develop (in conjunction with Enterprise Architects) and review architectural blueprints, roadmaps, standards and directions; conduct feasibility studies and options analyses.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

• A "big picture" perspective, interested in the success of the business, success within the industry and application of best practices and next practices in the industry.
• A blend of business acumen, large-scale IT system know-how, governance and operations.
• Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and technology.
• Strong awareness and understanding of hardware, networks, software, technologies and applications.
• Excellent communication skills and can explain complex technical issues in a way that nontechnical people can understand.
• TOGAF Certified.
• ITIL Certification (or similar).
