About the Role

The implementation of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is Western Health’s next step towards significantly improving and transforming the way we provide care for our community and patients. Western Health’s EMR will provide clinicians with a consolidated view of all relevant information about the patient to facilitate teamwork reduce medical errors and    support clinical decision making.  It will also simplify and support clinician workflow, and provide access to best   practice knowledge, empowering our clinicians with the tools to enhance the delivery of Best Care.

Phase one of Western Health’s 7 - 10 year EMR journey will deliver:

• structured clinical notes,
• medications prescribing and administration,
• pathology and radiology orders and results; and
• A supporting core system.

Duties

The EMR Orders and Results Lead will be responsible for the design, build, test and optimal implementation of the orders and results that will be integrated with the soon to be implemented Cerner EMR.  The role is one that will draw upon your extensive experience in healthcare to help facilitate safe clinical workflows and to ensure they align closely with business requirements.
By working closely with EMR project team, clinical staff, analysts and stakeholders; the EMR Orders and Results Lead will ensure delivery of Western Health’s requirements for delivering safe, person-centred, right and coordinated patient care. More specifically the EMR Orders and Results Lead will be expected to provide expert guidance and oversight of the pathology and radiology orders and results using detailed solution designs and the Cerner application roadmap from Go-Live and into the future.

This is a full time position with a fixed term of 18 months. The initial 6 months will be as part of the project team, and the remaining 12 months as part of the BAU team.
