Due to recent growth, we are looking for an experienced Network Administrator to join our team.

The Role

The successful candidate will have experience in a Level 2 support position in a time & billing by hour/project environment. You will be assisting our clients to manage and support their ICT environment which consists of a range of technologies, such as

  • MS Windows Server technologies
  • Virtualisation & Cloud technologies
  • System installations, upgrade, migrations and fault finding
  • Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, 2016 and 365
  • Network technologies including LANs, WANs, VPNs, TCP/IP and VOIP
  • Desktop hardware/software and wireless

Your primary focus will be facilitating escalations and their resolution, as well as coaching and mentoring the junior support team. You will be involved in the implementation of new technologies as well as continuous improvement of the existing environment.  Reporting to the Manager of Service Delivery, this role is predominantly based in our Blackburn office however an expectation is that you will spend portions of your time at customer sites within the Melbourne metro area.

Experience and Skills

Our successful candidate will have specific qualifications, skills and experience, including:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Ten or more years of experience in the IT industry in the area of client service and support with multiple clients across multiple industry types. You will demonstrate your ability to handle a range of concurrent jobs and changing priorities in high pressure situations.
  • Experience in a small IT Services provider.
  • Extensive experience with level 2 escalations.

You'll be an expert in:

  • System installations, upgrade, migrations and fault finding
  • Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (2003 onwards)
  • Microsoft Windows Server and related roles/features (2003 onwards)
  • Computer Networking (routing, switching, wireless)

You'll have a moderate level of exposure to:

  • Virtualisation – Hyper-V/VMWare
  • Cloud technologies – Office 365, Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services)

In addition to those technical skills and qualifications:

  • A very strong focus on customer service.
  • Excellent written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to write reports and proposals.
  • An ability to communicate well in written form in order to respond to emails and write proposals.
  • Clear verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to convey technical information to our customers in simple language they will easily understand.
  • Skills, discipline and motivation to work independently and part of a team.
  • A supportive work style, to step in and help his/her team members when required.
  • Problem solving ability with the self-motivation and confidence to take action for their customers.
  • Flexibility to work on-call (outside of business hours) when required and when the team schedules system updates.
  • Current Victorian drivers licence and own car.

 

Candidates will be required to complete a Victorian Police Check.

The position is based on a standard 38-hour week however after-hours work can be considered to be a part of the job which, along with travel, will be compensated. An attractive remuneration package will be created for the suitable candidate.
