A Western Australian based, national and well respected organisation is actively looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA. This is a fantastic opportunity offering a fast paced and exciting career path. You will be responsible for the provision of Database Management Systems support for projects of varying sizes and complexities. The incumbent is expected to maintain an extremely high level of technical understanding and currency of SQL Server product skills. An attractive salary package based on experience and certifications
You will:
- Manage and maintain the Microsoft SQL database environments
- Provide operational support of MSSQL Servers
- Deliver timely support, integrated with other relevant technical groups, for assigned projects, applications, incidents, problems, changes and releases
- Provide SQL tuning, backup and recovery, capacity planning, monitoring and alerting for system availability issues
- Produce high quality documentation
- Have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment when required.
- Demonstrate a high level of organisational and time management skills.
- Have the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously. Be able to work unassisted and where requested out of normal hours to complete typical administrative tasks.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Required Experience:
- Microsoft Database products including:
- SQL Server 7, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017
- SQL Server Management Studio
- SSRS/SSIS/SSAS/Power BI
- SQL server HA including cloud options
- Very good knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration
- Technical knowledge in Database concepts and design.
- Thorough understanding of database design, administration & infrastructure
- Understanding of virtualisation technologies and concepts
- T-SQL scripting, including stored procedures, triggers functions, querying of the system catalogue and development of automated jobs
- SQL performance optimisation, including database physical and logical design, T-SQL optimisation and index tuning
- Database server monitoring using Windows Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other tools
- SQL Server Agent job creation and scheduling
- SSIS package creation and administration
- Always On and availability groups, Mirroring, Log Shipping, Replication, and Clustering
- Familiarity with Data Warehousing methodologies and technologies
- Be able to identify and develop Database design processes, standards and deployment methods
- Identify, develop and implement database maintenance plans
- Be familiar with different development methodology standards, including AGILE and RAPID
