Position: Integration Designer/Developer

Postion Purpose:

The Integration Designer/Developer is responsible for analysis, design, development, and implementation of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI).  In addition, this position will take on the responsibility for:

• System and data analysis, architecture, and design

• Data integration and workflow design

• Software development, configuration and customization

• On-Site and Post implementation support

The role will work closely with IT Solution Analysts and Developers within the team, and engage with other teams within the IT Directorate, the broader development community and external vendors ensuring solution delivery is aligned to the defined enterprise architecture standards.

The Integration Designer/Developer will advise and consult with business system owners and the IT Directorate on enhancing and maximising benefits out of existing and new solutions in accordance with established  standards and industry best practices.

 
Qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience

Completion of, or progress towards, postgraduate qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems and extensive experience in the development and implementation of existing and/or new data integrations; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

Demonstrated experience in end-to-end solution delivery; from requirements discovery, through to support hand-over.

Extensive commercial experience developing with ESBs or Integration Frameworks (Eg. WSO2 ESB, Mulesoft, JBoss Fuse).  Also, solid development experience in Java.

Solid understanding of Object Orientated Design and Enterprise Integration Patterns.  Together with sound experience in API design (RAML/Swagger) and API Gateway.

Extensive experience in the design, support and implementation of SOA and/or Micro service architectures, ESB and EAI concepts.

Strong understanding of standards such as SOAP, RESTful services, JEE, Message Standards (JSON, XML).  Also, solid understanding of JMS, Web Services and other related protocols.

Demonstrated experience in setting up and using build, testing and deployment automation tools (e.g. Git, Maven, Junit, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Linux / Windows scripting).

Strong self-motivation to learn and evaluate new technologies to continually enhance applications.
