Visionstream – Network Engineer – Heatherton VIC
Based in our Heatherton office in Victoria, The Network Engineer’s primary purpose is to act as the technical escalation and SME for project staff on all Emergency Alerting System (EAS) network design and implementation activities. Additionally, the Network Engineer will have a responsibility to identify and mitigate operational risks to the performance of the system.
Day to day, the Network Engineer’s responsibilities would include:
- Facilitating the development of change requests into detailed design and implementation plans.
- Monitoring the network infrastructure environment to proactively identify issues and assist in the resolution to return systems to maximum efficiency and performance.
- Designing and implementing large scale IP MPLS networks, fixed fibre transport networks and wireless network transport links (including VSAT and microwave).
- Maintaining core equipment including software upgrades, configuration and network analysis on key core equipment including firewalls, switches, routers and servers.
About you
- Your previous experience in the design and implementation of large scale IP networks will give you the right technical exposure to succeed.
- You will have ideally had exposure to Linux Administration (preferably Redhat Enterprise), DB2 / Tivoli Systems Automation, Enterprise NMS (CA Spectrum preferred) and Network Administration (Cisco preferred).
- Your practical experience will be underpinned by a Diploma or degree in network engineering or equivalent industry experience, coupled with a CCNA and/or CCNP (or vendor equivalent).
