About the role

Reporting to the Manager Guardvant APAC, you will provide site-based and remote technical assistance to clients mostly in Australia and occasionally internationally. This will include working from home, our Newcastle office and on-site.

Specific duties include:

  • Assist with installation, commissioning and supporting of Guardvant technology from the office or on site.
  • Preparation, management and execution of projects.
  • Loading of software configurations, upgrades and operating systems onto computer equipment.
  • Undertake and maintain thorough software change management
  • Assist with sales, trials and preparing client user requirements. 
  • Become an integral player of our support team by providing first level diagnosis of software and hardware issues.
  • Be available on call for support as required.
  • Attend site and company meetings in person or remotely.

Skills and experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with Linux OS, wireless networks, switches and routing.
  • Good written and verbal communication 

Requirements

The job shall require overseas travel and access to mine operations. As such the following three questions are relevant to this role.

  • Do you have a valid passport or are able to obtain?
  • Some overseas VISA's require no criminal history. Can you provide a current National Police Check?
  • Do you consent to Drug and Alcohol Testing prior to and during this role?
