What you do
Reporting to the Head of Technology, as the Applications Development (Engineering) Lead you are accountable for ensuring that technology features and functions are designed, developed, supported and maintained across the enterprise. Under your leadership, the team will implement products and services to set standards so that our customers will recognise them as exceptional. While supervising the process of creating computer platforms, this role must be able to meet deadlines and should work well under pressure. You will have strong leadership skills for overseeing resources and partners across geographies. Most importantly you will be able to;
- Support the technology vision by ensuring we are recognised by our customers as providing exceptional quality platforms and services
- Thinking strategically to focus on our customers, brand, partners, performance and security
- Execute under our principles promoting, build once use many, leveraging of data, innovation via agility, products over projects whilst remaining effective and transparent
What you need
- Bachelors (required) /Master’s (desired) Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or relevant industry experience)
- 8+ years of experience in the IT Industry
- Excellent understanding of current architectural design patterns, standards, technologies and techniques
- Strong consulting skills to develop shared understanding across technical and business audiences
- Solution Architecture development including presentation and recommendation of options
- Desire to experiment with new ideas and rapidly build prototypes to remove technical roadblocks
- Project and program management planning and organisational skills
- Experience with CI/CD (implementation experience highly regarded)
- Experience with multi-cloud environments (e.g. AWS)
- Experience with PaaS/SaaS implementations - proficiency with Salesforce/Mulesoft very highly regarded
- Strong automation experience
- Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
- Strong consulting skills to develop shared understanding across technical and business audiences
- Demonstrated Vendor Management
- Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
