Your new role:

Reporting to the Geosolutions Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to assist AAM in building, managing and fine-tuning its internal and external AWS based infrastructure. You’ll coordinate with support / helpdesk to resolve issues to keep customers and AAM functioning and will coordinate and manage the AWS infrastructure and requirements across all the different business units in AAM. As the company’s wider team of employees and its clients are becoming more and more reliant on the cloud, centralised coordination is critical for efficiency.

What you will do:

  • Track the best technology for continuous deployment and implementation of the AAM cloud solution
  • Automate the deployment and administration of AWS resources
  • Monitor the infrastructure to ensure uptime and availability
  • Cost optimisation
  • Continue the rollout of AAM’s strategy around AWS and cloud
  • Work with operations and delivery teams to ease the configuration and deployment of new services
  • Assist in the setup and administration of CORE AAM cloud server solutions like: Geocortex, ArcGIS for Server, Portal, IWS
  • Achieve core support desk KPI’s around support issue resolution time
  • Perform key month end reporting and administration activities (including completing monthly performance and other management reports)

What you’ll offer us:

You will also demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering
  • 2+ years’ experience in a DevOps role - previous experience in a GIS environment highly desirable
  • Experience in scripting, network administration and engineering, routing, switching and VPN WAN and Windows and Unix system administration
  • A working knowledge of Office3654 and SharePoint administration would be highly regarded
  • Preferred technical skills include: AWS (Cloudformation, EC2, RDS, S3, Elasticache and more); NGINX; Linux (Ubuntu); Bamboo/Jenkins; Git; PHP/Python/Bash; SQL, PostgreSQL; GIS related software; ITIL, CCNA, MCSE
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to write and install technical documentation
  • An understanding of what is required to provide on-demand customer support
  • Current and clean Class C Driver’s License
