About the role

We are looking for a Manager Cyber Security Engineering to protect Rio Tinto's digital assets and industrial control systems through the operation and continuous improvement of solutions managed by Cyber Security.

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced cyber security professional to lead a talented team and help drive value from our investments and optimise the effectiveness of our cyber security controls. Reporting to the General Manager of Cyber Security Operations & Deputy CISO, you will:

• Manage a team of security engineers and subject matter experts responsible for building, maintaining and optimising security solutions
• Inspire and develop talent while providing vision and setting direction for the team; lead effectively through outcomes rather than tasks.
• Collaborate well with partner teams such as Group Platforms, Architecture, Cyber Security Intelligence and Cyber Security Incident Management to achieve shared objectives and lead continuous improvement efforts in the security of our platforms.
• Contribute to the definition and delivery of the cyber security strategy.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal value and drive outcomes.
• Proactively review the effectiveness of security solutions and investigate opportunities to make improvements.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• At least 7 years of hands on experience in information security and IT security service delivery
• Proven experience leading and motivating people to deliver quality outcomes
• Detailed understanding of what cyber security functions require to effectively prevent, detect and respond to threats
• Deep knowledge and experience with a breadth of cyber security technologies and detailed knowledge of how best to apply these technologies to minimise risk
• Ability to communicate clearly, convincingly and with authority, both verbally and written, across diverse cultures at all levels in the organisation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build credibility and collaboration.
• Ability to work in a global, multi-cultural organisation.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Strong knowledge of/or business experience in other business units or functional areas outside security.
