About the role…
The Spacely team is looking for a Senior Developer to join our startup inside of REA to help us build our brand new Spacely product (which is targeted at the short-term commercial rental market). We're using a variety of languages and technologies (including Ruby, React, and AWS) to create a world-class product and experience for our customers. You'll be deeply involved in the design and creation of the Spacely product and be a valued member of our cross-functional team.

What we expect…

• Advanced Skills in Ruby
• Approximately 5+ years’ experience in software development.
• Strong experience designing, developing and deploying software.
• A desire to mentor and guide less experienced members of the team.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with Test Driven Development.
• Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and getting your hands dirty.

What is it like to work with us in Spacely?
Spacely is a team running as a startup within REA Group. We are one cross-functional squad comprised of 12-16 people including developers, designers, delivery lead, product manager, marketing, sales and UX.

We have minimal external dependencies and have full control of our own product. We have recently released an MVP experience are now building out a series of new features for our customers and consumers. We seek feedback from our customers and consumers and use this to continually improve our product offering.

We believe strongly in pairing, testing and continuous delivery, mixed with large doses of fun. We support funded training and personal development, and because we’re part of a wider LOB in the business, there’s flexibility to develop skills in other areas and contribute to wider REA initiatives.

Each week we participate in guilds across the company to keep our skills sharp and increase our impact, and in team retrospectives where we keep track of how our team is going. Your manager acts as a mentor to help guide you and your career, instead of being someone who monitors your day to day.
