About the role
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation and testing of client and internal networks used to deliver iQ3 Cloud services to its growing enterprise and government client base while meeting business objectives and SLAs. This fulltime position is based in iQ3's North Sydney head office, and will occasionally require out of hours and on-call participation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with minimal supervision within a multidisciplinary team, manage multiple and conflicting work priorities, have exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
Job Tasks & Responsibilities
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Monitor performance and ensure network availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues as part of an on-call rotation
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Contribute to, follow network security policies and procedures, aligning with established industry standards such as ISO27001, PCI DSS, and others.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Skills and experience
- Must have current eligibility to work in Australia
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience particularly with Brocade VDX and Fortinet products
- Relevant network professional certifications, such as:
- Cisco CCNA or higher
- Brocade Certified Ethernet Fabric Professional
- Fortinet NSE level 4
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRF)
- Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- University degree in Computer Science or a related subject
