Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Manage IT Service desk queries within the agreed Service Level agreements (SLA’s)
  • Provide IT support to staff and directors; assist with audio visual requirements in meeting rooms as required
  • Promptly, efficiently and effectively attending to requests from users, both internal and external in the most professional, friendly and service oriented manner.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary
  • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request; Coordinate staff On Boarding and Off Boarding processes
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards
  • Assist with information and training in relation to various software applications, reviews users manuals/procedures and assists in delivering training to the end users as required
  • Maintain accurate and up to date of IT documentation and IT asset register
  • Responsible for placing equipment orders, track delivery and licensing, validate licensing and inventories of IT equipment
  • Seek guidance and /or assistance (escalating) from other members of the IT department regarding more complex Help Desk requests
  • May be requested to provide assistance to internal or external users outside work hours from time to time to support users
  • Become proficient in the operation of their computing tools
  • Adhoc duties where required

Profile

The successful applicant will ideally possess the following:

  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • A strong customer service focus and desire to put the customer first.
  • An ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues
  • A strong understanding of Active Directory, Windows servers, Office 365,Microsoft Exchange, Citrix and AWS preferable
  • Demonstrated effective organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Achieve objectives and manage competing priorities whilst managing day to day enquiries and dealing with constant interruptions.
  • Proven time management skills with strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • High attention to detail
  • A dedicated approach to customer service and exceeding expectations.
  • A "can do-will do" attitude
  • Flexibility for after-hours support as and when required
  • 3+ years’ work experience in an IT Service Desk support role is highly desirable, predominately in Microsoft technologies
  • Professional services experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A demonstrated track record of customer services experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent required degree is preferable.
