The role
Lead and manage a distributed global agile team in a hands-on agile environment as an Engineering Manager for our Keystone team. Leading complex projects, delivering new products and features for release and supporting existing customers.
Our product
Objective Keystone transforms the way large financial institutions manage their disclosure and customer communications strategies. It has successfully focused on the wealth management sector with the product being used by the majority of large financial institutions in Australia. 40% growth last year highlights the huge global opportunity available to the product.
Our Keystone team is well established in the UK but growing rapidly in ANZ. This is an opportunity for you to lead both teams and drive the growth of the software development team here in Sydney. Our aim is to have our product development teams working collaboratively across the different regions. This role will give you the opportunity as a leader to gain tangible results by enabling changes and ensuring we are always delivering excellent results.
Daily duties
- Lead a team of 10-15 software engineers, support and operations specialists based in Sydney and London
- Plan, execute, monitor and successfully deliver software development projects. Manage deployment of new releases to production instances
- Motivate and energise your team. Provide clear goals and context
- Guide product management to ensure that we are building the best features
- Continually improve processes and implement best practice in software development
- Ensure production availability of the Keystone application. Monitor and manage our cloud infrastructure.
Your experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in leading teams and technically complex software development projects, ideally developing commercial software
- Deep understanding of Agile software development methodologies, SCRUM and Kanban
- Strong leader capable of building a highly creative and productive environment and reinforcing the team culture of accountability and results orientation
- Ability to clearly articulate technical challenges, goals and solutions
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability deal with ambiguous or loosely defined problems
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
